Office of the Ombudsman

The Personnel Cabinet ombudsman serves as a liaison and resource for employees and agencies across state government in need of information or guidance. While specific expertise lies in human resource practices, a wide range of questions or needs can be addressed by the ombudsman.

The ombudsman will respond to inquiries and provide resources or options, facilitate meetings or other forms of communication, help guide solutions to concerns that may arise, and recommend actions or changes to existing procedures.

The ombudsman is not necessarily an advocate for either employees or management, but rather provides objective advice in an informal and impartial fashion.  However, the ombudsman does not provide legal advice or counseling.
