Personal and Job-Stress Concerns

Problems concerning family, or emotional distress, job stress or even medical issues can seriously diminish an individual's job performance. As a progressive employer the Commonwealth of Kentucky recognizes that there are positive, workable solutions to many of these problems that trouble employees.
To discuss referral resource options, call the Kentucky Employee Assistance Program at 502-564-5788.
Grief Counseling
For all employees and their beneficiaries with a Basic Life Insurance Plan, receive up to five grief counseling sessions per event to discuss any major loss, including but not limited to death, bankruptcy, finalized divorce, terminal illness, or losing a pet. State Government Managers
The Kentucky Employee Assistance Program (KEAP) has services available to managers. If you are interested in utilizing any of the resources below, you can contact KEAP at 502-564-5788.
Management Consultation
Sometimes employees' personal problems affect their work or the workplace. Decline in performance or behavior may take many forms. Supervisors need to know how to recognize and respond when an employee is struggling. Receive management consultation for support on how to address these concerns. Workplace Leadership Skills Coaching sessions are also available. This
service helps supervisors grow their capacity to identify, evaluate and
manage emotions in oneself as well as in others.
Workplace Grief Support
Strong personal bonds are often formed within workgroups, and when an employee dies, coworkers grieve. When death affects a workgroup, KEAP can provide grief support resources to help co-workers.
Crisis Response Support
Psychological first aid services provide individuals with information about possible reactions that may follow a critical incident. Structured support allows individuals to discuss their thoughts and reactions to the incident.
